OUR MISSION

Orlando After-School All-Stars provides comprehensive after-school programs in a safe environment that help youth achieve in school and life.

Since 1995, Orlando After-School All-Stars (Orlando ASAS) has been the community leader in providing free out-of-school and summer programming for all of Orlando's middle school age youth. Orlando ASAS accomplishes this through a diversified after-school and summer program curriculum that includes academic, enrichment, and athletic activities.

As a non-profit organization, Orlando ASAS works in partnership with the City of Orlando, Orange County Public Schools, and a variety of community businesses, state agencies, and civic organizations.

Orlando Magic Visit Orlando After-School All-Stars

After-School All-Star students at our Memorial Middle School program got a very special Valentine’s Day surprise. Orlando Magic players Jameer Nelson and Brandon Bass stopped by to tour the program, spend time with the kids and announce their sponsorship in ASAS’s “Hoop Heroes” program. As Hoop Heroes Ambassadors both players have pledged donations throughout the NBA 2010-2011 regular season based on a stat of their choice.

During the tour, Jameer and Brandon interacted with the kids during their reading enrichment classes. They helped the students work on writing and art projects based around Black History Month topics. The pair also got a chance to learn a few new moves off the court from the ASAS step-team. The day ended with a Q&A session with over 100 students. The players spoke about their life experiences, path to success and the vital role positive role models and after-school programs played in their lives.
